Ritesh Batra
Born and raised in Bombay, India, Ritesh Joginder Batra is now based in New York. He was selected for the 2006 MAISHA Film Lab, shortly thereafter he made the award winning short ‘The Morning Ritual’. Batra recently worked on a feature screenplay for director Santosh Sivan. He was a fellow at the 2009 Sundance Screenwriters Lab and the 2009 Sundance Director’s Lab. In addition, he was named the Sundance Time Warner Storytelling Fellow and an Annenberg Fellow for his project ‘The Story of Ram’. His short film 'The Taxiwallah' was shot in New York in Fall, 2009 and stars David Marguiles, Samrat Chakrabarti and other notable New York actors. He is currently working on 'The Story of Ram' and the feature version of 'The Taxiwallah'.
